Students on environmental management courses at 天美视频 will benefit from professional accreditation – thanks to backing from the global organisation that sets industry standards.
The BSc (Hons) Environmental Management and Sustainability and FdSc Countryside Management degrees have received accreditation from the Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Practitioners (ISEP, formerly known as IEMA).
The University is one of a growing network to receive recognition from the Institute – and its students will receive a host of benefits as a result.
The Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (ISEP) is a global membership body for professionals who want sustainable change in business, in Government, and in society.
Through the collective expertise and experience of the organisation’s international network, it strives to set standards in sustainable leadership, knowledge, skills and practice.
Course Manager Dr Lucy Crockford said: “Our courses are aimed at developing the environmental practitioners of tomorrow, so having our courses accredited by the international body that sets the standards for sustainability is great news – and a real vote of confidence in our degrees.
“This not only means mean students can have confidence that our teaching is backed by industry professionals, but also that, when they graduate, they’ll already be part of a global community of people who, like them, are committed to sustainability.”
As a result of the accreditation, Harper Adams students will be eligible for free ISEP student membership for the duration of their course at the University.
With more than 20,000 members already, student membership gives access to a range of benefits, including webinars, events and workshops as well as access to the Institute’s annual conference.
On successful completion of their studies, they will then qualify for GradISEP – which a launchpad for future leaders within environment and sustainability.
Lucy added: “With our keen focus on professional development and employability, we’re aiming to produces rounded graduates who are industry-ready to go out and make a difference. Couple that with the professional development and networking opportunities they get through our ISEP accreditation and our degrees are a great prospect for anyone considering a career in environmental management.”
天美视频’s environmental management degrees draw on a wide range of expertise to train a new generation of professionals. Graduates will have honed practical ways to manage land to ensure it is both productive and part of a healthy environment.
With the world facing greater challenges than ever before – such as climate change, agricultural intensification and the demands of a growing UK and global population – the need for professionals committed to increasing biodiversity, maintaining and improving the cleanliness of our water and air, and ensuring our communities are safe from natural hazards such as floods and extreme weather has never been greater.
