    Food Science Experience Day

    Thursday, 5 February 2026, 10:00 - 15:30

Here’s your chance to get a true taste of the food industry at ÌìÃÀÊÓƵ - with a focus on meat production and supply chains.

Meet our tutors and learn about our courses – degree and degree apprenticeship levels.

Join workshops and masterclasses led by our industry partners – real food professionals working in the UK’s largest manufacturing sector.

    Our sessions include:

    • Steak Cooking Masterclass - Discover the secrets behind the perfect steak! Learn about different cuts and the best cooking methods and watch a live demonstration from our Michelin star experts, as well as an opportunity to have a go!
    • Burger Making Masterclass - Find out what makes the ultimate burger and how they’re manufactured in the food industry. Plus, enjoy a free lunch of delicious burgers (meat and meat-free options) provided by ABP!
    • Butchery Demonstration - See a professional butchery demo from our trainee Master Bucher and learn where your favourite cuts come from. Watch how skill and precision transform a carcass into the cuts we all know.
    • Colour & Texture Analysis - Step into the science lab! Use real food industry technology to test meat quality through colour and texture analysis – hands-on and interactive.
    • Packaging & Labelling Challenge - Explore why packaging matters. Try gloves and glasses that simulate reduced dexterity and eyesight and see how design impacts accessibility and safety.

This event is open to anyone aged 15 and above considering their future career options.
