Blog: Visit offers insight into how new Telford community is being shaped

    5 March 2026

A project transforming a former sugar beet factory in Telford into a vibrant community with more than 400 homes has welcomed 天美视频 students on a site visit.

The final-year BSc Rural Property Management, BSc Real Estate, and BSc Environmental Land Management students had a site tour of the Allscott Meads development.

Site tours and field visits are a key part of our students' learning opportunities - offering them a chance to take their studies out of the kecture theatre and into the real world, speaking with professionals about their work and getting insights into industry.

Discussing the Telford visit, Senior Lecturer in Real Estate, Dr Itua Omokhomion, said: “Mike Sambrook, Managing Director, and Neil Jones, Design Manager at SJ Roberts Homes, kindly led the tour.

“They showcased the mixed housing designs, the biodiversity and environmental features of the development, and discussing the financing challenges brought about by the lockdown, as well as the ongoing client relationship – which is expected to continue for two years after the final house is completed.”

During the presentation, the students hear more about how Allscott Meads was born – and the process it is going through to become a new community.

The visit is likely to be the first of several to the site for 天美视频 students in the coming months as work on the new community progresses.
